Policies

Confidentiality - All materials and information, including immunizations, registration information and other related data will be kept confidential.

Absences and Tardiness - If you child is running late or will be absent from a regular pickup, please call us ASAP. Since we are on a pickup time schedule this might interfere with another pickup and make that student, along with your child, late for class. We can only wait a maximum of three minutes for your child during the morning pick up. You will be charged our regular fee even if your child is not ready.

Immunizations - We require a copy of an up-to-date immunization record. This may be faxed directly from the doctor. No child will be picked up until this record is received. It must be kept current to provide riding privileges for your child. A copy of this will be kept on hand at all times. This benefits your child as well as other children.

Sick child - With proper release information for the nurse, ill children can be picked up and dropped off at your neighbors, grandmas, or any other caretaker's home. We can not drop off an ill child to an empty home. This is for your protection as well as the ill child.

Latch-key Children - Precious Cargo is not responsible for children left alone in their home. We will NOT leave any Kindergarten children without adult supervision at drop-off. Please see the release form for Latch-Key children.

School Release - Each child must have a release form completely filled out for the front office staff at Tashua. Tashua will not release your child to Precious Cargo unless this is complete. Precious Cargo will load at the front doors behind the regular school buses. If a second run is necessary, school staff will supervise them until Precious Cargo arrives.

Hours - Our hours are from 6:30 am to 5:30 pm for pick-ups and drop-offs. Extended hours available by appointment only. Monday through Friday. If you need a Saturday pick-up or drop-off it can be arranged in advance. No Sundays, please.

Holidays - We observe all regular school holidays including Winter Break, Spring Break and Jewish Holidays.

  • New Year's Eve, New Year's Day
  • Memorial Day
  • 4th of July
  • Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving Day
  • Christmas Eve, Christmas Day
  • Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
  • Presidents Day

Bad Weather - Please listen to the weather channels for road conditions. We follow the school closings and may be delayed according to the school delays. If, for example, the schools are delayed for 90 minutes, we will be delayed 90 minutes also from the regular pick up time. We are driving a four-wheel drive vehicle. Snow should not be a problem. Schedules are subject to change depending on conditions. If a special pick-up or drop-off is needed, please call.

Discipline - Due to the safety involved in this service, we ask that each child show respect to the driver or assistant.
We will provide and encourage riders to show respect to each other. We want your child to have fun, so we have a video screen on board. However, if a child cannot be controlled, privileges will be taken away. Uncontrollable behavior will not be tolerated at any time. We will first give a verbal warning to the child. Second a verbal warning will be given to the parent. Third a written letter will gohome to the parents followed with a call. Fourth offense will result in immediate termination from Precious Cargo.

Fares - Our fares are most economical when reservations are pre-scheduled. We accommodate most last minute calls for an extra charge. Trumbull fares are divided out by zones. Please call us for your personal quote: 203-268-2805
